Since opening in 1994, Alligator Pear has attracted customers from all over the county, winning Gift Shop of the Year for the South of England not once not twice but an amazing three times!
Bursting with gorgeous goodies throughout eight fantastic rooms, it is a destination store for home accessories, elegant jewellery, inspirational gifts and much, much more!
You will find presents for grown ups and kids alike, and not forgetting Alligator Pear also has a stunning collection of home furnishings with an eclectic mix of stylish wall clocks, beautiful frames, cosy cushions and other decorative accessories.
The store is open seven days a week so if you are ever in the area please pop in to say hello. You will be spoilt for choice!
Maggie
Maggie is the owner who started the business after joining Debenhams as a graduate trainee and training as a buyer/manager for several years. After setting up a much smaller operation in Walton on the Hill nearly 25 years ago, never did she imagine that after 20 years in Tadworth would it blossom into the successful and much loved Alligator Pear. As well as a passion for the shop, Maggie enjoys travelling and spending time with her family.
Jenni
Our Manager Jenni has joined us from Fenwicks Kingston. She brings to us a wealth of knowledge and experience having been buyer/manager of cards, cookshop and gifts over many years. Jenni always has a smile on her face, she loves everything product related and along with Maggie is in charge of buying. Many of the 'gin' related products have been selected by Jen! On her days off she enjoys socialising with friends and drinking gin!
Angie
Angie is our Operations Manager and one of the longest standing team members. Angie is still as passionate about Alligator Pear as the day she started. Previously a manager for Whittards she has many years of customer service experience and is a firm favourite with our Alligator Pear customers. Angie loves attending the buying fairs and selecting new product. Out of work Angie enjoys long walks and afternoon teas!
MEET THE TEAM
Trisha
Most of you will know our wee Scottish girl Trisha. Our retail assistant Trish loves nothing more than having a laugh with customers and making them feel welcome, she also loves beautifully gift wrapping products for you. Out of work Trish loves walking her dogs and talking!
Lindsay
Lindsay is another of our visual merchandisers who previously worked as a junior buyer at Confetti and has experience in costume jewellery buying. Lindsay is in charge of our fashion & accessories room which she has a real passion for. Lindsay loves organising events for the shop and keeps our customers up to date with newsletters and social media posts. Out of work she enjoys family time, biscuits and karaoke!
Lin
Lin is one of our retail assistants who enjoys helping make the shop look beautiful. This includes the front courtyard where she maintains our gorgeous plants and flowers. Lin has also just helped launch our successful range of fresh flower planters. In her spare time Lin enjoys gardening and upcycling furniture.
Ruth
Our lovely retail assistant Ruth is in charge of our reading glasses selection. Something she has a great eye for! Ruth is brilliant with customers and is always so happy. She is also queen of tea! When Ruth is not working she spends time with her grandchildren and loves hosting dinner parties.
