2010 Independent Gift Retailer of The Year

We are delighted to announce that we have been crowned winner of the 2010 Independent Gift Retailer of the Year Awards. Having won the hearts of many in the local area, we're delighted to have beaten off competition from thousands of competitor businesses across the South East and London region.

 

We started out as a small gift shop in 2002, but immediately captured interest from shoppers across the local area and beyond, and recently moved into the online world, making the local offering available to shoppers across the country.

 

We are now entering our eighth year of business, attracting not only local shoppers, but our word of mouth reputation is fascinating customers from all over the South East. With helpful and dedicated staff you know that when you come to Alligator Pear you are sure to receive a warm welcome and helping hand. It’s hard not to believe that you have stumbled into Aladdin’s cave when walking through the front doors as the store is jam-packed full of gifts, treasures and trinkets for all of the family.

 

Our proprietor, Maggie Thornton commented, “We are absolutely thrilled that our family-run local business has won this prestigious award. When we started out the business eight years ago, we never dreamed that we would be competing against the hundreds of high-end boutiques in London and the South of England. It has been hard work but receiving recognition from such a prestigious award really makes it all worthwhile!”

 

Now in their eighth year, The Greats Awards have become the accolades to strive for, recognising and celebrating not only the top independent and multiple gift retailers regionally and nationally, but also one-off niche retailers, garden centres and supermarkets.

 

We are looking forward to continuing our efforts in the store and on the website throughout 2010 and beyond!
